Sumomomo, Momomo
Koushi is the latest generation of a bloodline of powerful martial artists, but he’d rather have nothing to do with his meathead father’s fanaticism for martial arts; he’d prefer to live a normal life and avoid conflict as much as possible. Into his life comes the absurdly strong and energetic Momoko, who, as it turns out, is herself of a bloodline of martial artists. She has followed in her father’s footsteps and is a strong martial artist - but she feels she’s not quite strong enough. Koushi and Momoko’s respective fathers agreed long ago that their children should marry when they come of age, so that the bloodlines will mix and their children will be the most powerful martial artists in the world. Momoko is gung ho for this idea and ready for some, er, productive procreation with Koushi, but he’s rather resentful of the chaos she has brought into her life and rejects her advances. Well, if she can’t convince him to make babies with her, can she at least convince him to stop being such a wuss?
The odd title of this series comes from a Japanese tongue twister.
SuMo is light-hearted and fun most of the time, but I don’t know what’s supposed to be up with Momoko. Ostensibly she’s at least old enough to be a high school student, but she’s often drawn short and pudgy, made to look ten years younger than she apparently is for unexplained reasons - it’s creepy at times, especially when she’s drawn that way while trying to seduce Koushi.
