Soul Eater
Maka, Black☆Star and Death the Kid are three students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where they’re learning to become grim reapers of sorts. Each of them has weapons capable of taking human form. The stern Maka has Soul Eater, a full-sized scythe; the hopelessly egotistical Black☆Star (yes, the star is part of his name) has Tsubaki, two short scythes connected by a chain; and the obsessive-compulsive Death the Kid has The Thompson Sisters, twin pistols. These three teams all have one goal in mind; to harvest enough souls of the evil so that their weapons are selected to be the new Death Scythe of Shinigami-sama, the god of death. But various other nefarious underworlders have their own ideas…
Though Soul Eater may at first glance deal with the same dark thematic matter of Jack Frost, Soul Eater’s violence - and fanservice - is decidedly more cartoony and easier to enjoy.
