Shrimp Art is the name of a single-page comic, usually consisting of two four-panel strips, which appears in each Yen Plus issue facing the “Afterword” page (which contains various stream-of-consciousness-like blurbs written by various members of the Yen Plus staff). It generally features a pair of four-panel strips starring the staff of Yen Plus and their adventures at work.
Shrimp Art is created by Abby Blackman, who started as an intern at Yen Press before being promoted to Assistant Editor. The strip’s name, as explained in the September 2008 issue, is due to the fact that Abby’s name sounds similar to ebi, the Japanese word for “shrimp” (in the crustacean sense).
