After being spurned by the handsome Seung-Hyu yet again, high school girl Ji-Hae suffers a fatal fall. In the afterlife, she find out her heartbreak in the present is the result of an unfulfilled past in previous generations. She’s sent in time to the latter end of the Three Kingdoms period of the Korean Peninsula (around 650 AD) to try to right the wrongs of the past. She eventually finds Seung-Hyu’s past iteration as Ja-Yun Lee, a member of the elite Hwa-Rang-Do archery unit who already has a girlfriend, thank you very much, and it’s not Ji-Hae. But she’s not one to give up, so she hatches a plan to get closer to Ja-Yun by joining the Hwa-Rang-Do herself. The fact that Ja-Yun has already mistaken her for a man won’t hurt…

Given Sarasah’s time period and allusions to Korean history most Anglophones would be quite ignorant of, Sarasah often has quite an extensive cultural notes page.

Objective review:
I don’t think Sarasah is my cup of tea. It’s kind of hard to relate to Ji-Hae when she obsesses over the untouchable Seung-Hyu to a clearly unhealthy degree… On the other hand, the art is nice, with insanely gorgeous clothing design work in some panels.
