“Imagine if Korea was still ruled by royalty. Imagine Korean palaces hustling and bustling with royal servants and politicians instead of tourists.” In this alternate present, Chae-Kyung is a typical student who just happens to go to high school with the crown prince, Shin Lee. She meets him in the hallway one day, and they don’t exactly hit it off - but fate won’t let their relationship end with a thrown pair of shoes and a shouting match.
Goong is a very long-running series; Yen Press’s web site (see below) lists seventeen volumes for this series, to be published into 2012. That’s a whole lot of panels…
A television series based on the Goong comic was madly successful in Korea.
