B. Ichi
In this comic by Soul Eater’s Atsushi Ohkubo, a traveling girl named Mana meets a adventurous boy named Shotaro who has a unique ability; he can take on the attributes of any animal by merely chewing on its bones. In exchange for this ability, he must use his skills to do at least one good deed a day. In a city where misfit super-villains have taken over the government, there’s gonna be a lot of good deeds that need done…
The graphical look is notably different than Ohkubo’s later Soul Eater; whereas Soul Eater’s art is curvy and silly, B. Ichi’s art is rougher, with more contrast and straighter line work. They’re both quite silly, though, with charming main characters - at least, if Yen Plus’s preview is any indication.
The title of this comic is a bit of a multi-layered pun; ichi is the Japanese word for the number “one.” If the letter B is prepended to “one,” the result is “bone,” which Shotaro chews on.
