Aaron and Sharon's Comic Torah

Totally off topic, but it’s my prerogative to do so, especially something as far out as this.

A couple named Aaron and Sharon want to put out a comic book featuring illustrated stories from the Torah, so they’re raising funds via Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a site where folks with ambitions try to raise money to fund their projects, such as climbing Mt Kiliminjaro or creating a music video.

Now, normally, I probably wouldn’t be all that interested in a comic book featuring Old Testament stories, but this project is a more… twisted than your typical religious tract. It definitely caught my attention, and I bet it’ll catch yours too. Take a look for yourself - watch this video on their Kickstarter page, or check out some sample pages.

Aaron and Sharon, I’ve pledged my $22. Use it well - I look forward to your book.

Hey, Albright, thanks for this post. How did you hear about it? We’re about 1/3 of the way toward our fundraising goal now, so thanks for supporting the Comic Torah!

It was pure chance. I was checking out this Kickstarter thing, and stumbled over the Torah page in its directory. I thought it was a riot!

Kickstarter itself seems kind of surprising to me, though. What’s stopping some sketchy character like me from using it fraudulently; promising the moon and stars if they can just raise ten grand, then disappearing once the money is transferred?
